Mission & Inclusion

• Offer middle and high school musicians who aspire to an advanced level of play an opportunity to learn and perform works from the standard symphonic repertoire, as they develop the skills and discipline of orchestral performance.
• Provide exposure to an exceptional music education led by conductors who introduce and guide young musicians through challenging and diverse repertoire. We share this process with communities in and around Philadelphia as we aspire to include and provide access to all.
• Work cooperatively with public, private, alternative schools and independent music teachers while educating and engaging a diverse group of young musicians.

The Delaware County Youth Orchestras are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We aim to provide an environment that honors and supports each musician to reach their fullest potential, regardless of culture, gender, identity, geography, or socio-economic status. As we make music we grow, share, and learn together.
